My interest in the academy began as a child (I'm a rare native San Franciscan) and over the years I've seen the museum evolve into the innovative scientific showplace it is today. My experience as a journalist includes more than two decades in Bay Area reporting for the newspaper chain that eventually became the Bay Area News Group.
